In case you're wondering, that is a pickle ornament from Bruce's very own tree (I still say he's crazy for giving this up *grin*)! In Merry Christmas, America!, you'll read about the fun tradition of hiding a pickle ornament in your tree on Christmas morning. The first person to find the ornament gets to open the first present.
I'd never heard of this until I read the book, but I just saw a whole line of pickle ornaments at my craft store the other day (fashioned as pickle people in various professions). Now I'm hooked on this tradition and wish I could enter my own contest. :)

Hi, I heard about the pickle ornament a few years ago. Some friends had us over for a party and I was checking out the ornaments on their tree! All
of a sudden, I spot this "pickle", so I had to inquire about it. That is when I learned about the "pickle!"
