K'NEX Meets Sesame Street

What do you get when you combine popular, educational children's characters with a classic and fun construction toy?

You get the brand new, delightful and innovative Sesame Street-themed building sets from K'NEX! Specially designed for children ages two and older (the youngest audience yet for K'NEX), the new sets are filled with colorful KID K'NEX rods and connectors, as well as all-new KID K'NEX blocks. The blocks are designed to provide an easier building experience for younger children.

And to heighten the play experience, each set comes with engaging and interactive educational content such as tips for parents and fun activity cards for kids, as well as lots of building ideas.

We were able to try out the Ernie Building Set, which is packaged inside of an adorable, Ernie-shaped storage container:

The parts can be combined to make a variety of creations. Here are a few examples:

It even comes with Ernie's famous Rubber Duckie! How cute!

There are three other fun $10.99 sets that kids will have a blast with: Elmo and his goldfish Dorothy, Cookie Monster, and Oscar the Grouch with Slimey the Worm. Each 14-15 piece set also includes Sesame Street activity sheets and educational activities.

There are several other building sets in various price ranges and sizes. Click here to see the entire collection.

K'NEX has several specials going on, including free shipping on orders over $75. Click here to view all of the specials.

I know what I'll be giving to my little cousin this Christmas! These sets will be a sure hit with him!

Looks pretty cool, not sure of scale of pieces, I'd worry about a two-year old putting the pieces on their mouths. How big are the bits?

~Mik- Good question! The set I have (Ernie) does not have any "small" parts and there is no choking hazzard warning on it.

The only parts I would be concerned about with a toddler would be the connectors and the hair pieces. They are thin, but they're also long so I don't know if they technically would be considered a choking hazzard.

I'm assuming not or they probably wouldn't be able to advertise this line as appropriate for ages 2 and up.

But I, personally, would supervise a toddler when he/she plays with it, just to be on the safe side.
