I remember my first Cabbage Patch Kids doll. It was a girl with blonde hair and had a blue nightgown. And she was one of my favorite dolls.
So I was delighted to hear that Limited Edition 25th Anniversary Cabbage Patch Kids have hit the shelves (for a limited time only). Each Cabbage Patch Kid is a one-of-a-kind replica of an original doll made in 1983, crafted with the same sculpts/molds and materials.
They have the same face, name, and clothing as the originals. How cool is that? More than 115 million Cabbage Patch Kids have been "adopted" since 1983, making them the best-selling large doll of all time!
Here's the doll my daughter Natalie received for review:
Meet Reba Gloria, a "born again" doll (my term, not theirs, *grin*) that is so adorable and much loved by Natalie:
The doll is just as well made as it was 25 years ago, with the Xavier Roberts signature on the bottom just like before. And it still has a pleasant baby powder scent. The dolls also come with a "silver anniversary" baby spoon, commemorative silver-stamped 25th anniversary birth certificates and adoption papers.
Wouldn't it be something if we could all find the doll that we had as a kid??? There's only ONE of each doll out there (well, now two if you still have your doll from back then), so these are bound to be huge collector's hits.
The Cabbage Patch Kids Playzone is something I wish I had as a child. There, your child can change the name of their doll if they wish and print out a new birth certificate, watch dozens of videos celebrating 25 years of Cabbage Patch memories, play games, and more.
Feel free to submit your own Cabbage Patch memories on the site. I'd love to hear about your memories as well, so leave a comment if you'd like, sharing those memories with me.
